Building a better digital world through Communia.
I am the award-winning founder and CEO of Communia, a globally-facing social networking app and self development platform for women, and a safe space for women online. As an assault survivor, I realized how few resources there are for women who are going through difficult periods in their lives, and how isolating such experiences can be. So I set out to build a solution designed to empower women through information and connection.
Originally launched as a media platform called Restless Magazine in July 2019, I have built Communia into a first of it's kind ocial wellness app that doesn't shy away from difficult subjects, and am committed to addressing the many challenges that women experience in all aspects of their lives, particularly in the digital space.
I am also the founder & CEO of Restless Network, a portfolio of brands seeing tech through the female gaze, and was the original name of the Communia app.
I know first-hand the challenges women face both online & IRL, and am on a mission to prioritize social safety, both within my company and as a challenge to the broader tech industry, which needs to do better in ensuring that our digital environments are places where we all can thrive.
With a prior background in the non-profit industry, I believe that private companies can have a powerful role to play in effecting positive social change, particularly through innovation and scale. As a result, I have been intentional in developing Communia as both a technical innovator and as a company that prioritizes its broader social mission.
When not building my company, I speak out on #MeToo issues, women in business, tech issues, politics, and feminism. You can find my words & opinions in Glamour UK, Ms. Magazine, the Restless Network editorial site, TechCrunch, and more. I've spoken at USC's Own It alongside Gloria Steinem and Millennial Mentors' Goal Setting Masterclass.

Like so many women, when I was a freshman in college, I was sexually assaulted. Though I won two university tribunals, my assaulter sued me for millions of dollars simply for reporting him. What I experienced is just one example of a growing trend of abusers manipulating grey areas of defamation law to silence their victims. I advocate for better protections for survivors like myself within the law, and also on university campuses.
As an an experienced entrepreneur & marketer, I am available to consult on social media strategy, positioning, product ideation, revenue strategy, app development, and more.
My first career path was in international development, and my experience in a number of international NGO's positions me to also be an effective consultant for non-profits and activist campaigns.
